Gram Parsons is a different sort of cat and this is one bleak tune, but I love it nonetheless.
Never mind the goofy Civil War pictures and crap. Just listen to the song.
Dude was an alcoholic and a hopeless drug addict; a morphine overdose killed him. The tragedy of Gram Parsons was that he bought the farm at the height of his talent. It seemed like he was just hitting his stride when his addiction got the better of him.
But before he killed himself, he gave us some absolutely phenomenal music. That’s not the worst legacy to have.
