NoOneOfAnyImport’s Open Letter To The Left

Many of us on the Right have pretty much had it with liberals. But some in the conservative movement haven’t given up hope. NoOneOfAnyImport is one of those folks.
In fact, she’s making the effort some of us just can’t. She’s reaching out to them. She’s trying…to make this relationship work. Check it out:
Dear Left:
I know it’s been awhile since we’ve talked. I mean . . . really talked. We’ve both been so busy trying to make ends meet, and there isn’t much time to meet in the middle.
I know what you are thinking right now. All the time, you beg me to compromise, to come and meet you in the middle, so that we can make up like we always do.
But I’ve done a lot of thinking. The thing is, I am always compromising for you.
You never compromise for me.
Seriously. This is not just the wine talking. I have racked my brain, trying to come up with one lousy example of you compromising for me in the last 20 years.
It just isn’t there.

Great link! I’ve always argued that in order to defeat the ideology of the left, it’s important to open their eyes to the fact that their’s is not the only way to look at things. Once you get someone past the idea that liberalism (as it stands today) is the only possible way to be a decent person, then you can actually discuss different ideas.
If the left sees us as barbaric, uneducated brutes they will never listen to a reasoned argument from a conservative. I don’t think anyone is beyond reach, it just requires a lot of patience. I guess I look at it as a battle of attrition. Every convert to free market, liberty and the reasoned conservatism is another person who can free someone else from the locked-in progressive mindset. Is that too optimistic? i prefer to think of it as the glass being half full.

Sorry to rain on the parade folks but I don’t think the Lefties are interested in listening to reason or logic, at this time. The lame duck congress is planning to gives one last, big time, screwing in the next few days or weeks. The Food Safety Modernization Act (S 510), which has already passed the House and has bipartisan support, will make Obamacare look cheap. This is red alert time my friends. Checkout my post for today. Everyone needs to be talking about this.

That was a great link. I have to agree with Conservative on Fire in that they aren’t listening, and they’ll do as much damage as they can before they leave.

She’s right that they won’t compromise. They never did and they never will, if they do, they’re lying and i guarantee they’ll shaft you at the first opportunity. I’ve seen it happen so many times to so many who think they can win over the scum.
